A fresh video released by the abductors of pupils and staff of Community Grammar School, Ahoro-Esinele in Oyo State has once again brought the painful plight of the victims to national attention.
In the video released on June 8, 2026, the school’s Vice Principal, Mrs. Alamu Folawe, who is among those being held captive, made an emotional appeal to authorities and the public.
According to her, the abductors are not demanding money or seeking religious concessions but are instead requesting the release of some of their detained members.
More striking, however, was her desperate plea to the government: “Government should stop playing politics with our lives.”
The abduction occurred on May 15, 2026, when armed men attacked schools in the Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State. The attackers abducted dozens of pupils and teachers, including Community Grammar School Vice Principal Mrs. Alamu Folawe. A teacher was also killed during the attack.
As of June 8, 2026, the victims have been in captivity for about 24 days, which explains the growing concern and the renewed appeals from the abducted vice principal and families of the victims.
