The ember months, spanning from September to December, typically witness a surge in road travel due to various factors, like festivities, increased commercial activities, and the end-of-year celebrations.
Due to traffic related dangers associated with ember months, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised road users, emphasizing the importance of safety and responsible driving practices to mitigate the risks associated with increased vehicular movements.
The Oyo State Sector public education officer, CRC Mayowa Odewo made this known while featuring on yesfm’s current affairs program YSlive.
He stressed that road safety is a collective responsibility, urging road users to prioritize safety, exercise patience, and comply with traffic regulations to ensure a safe and accident-free ember season.
Odewo reassured the public that enforcement measures will be heightened to ensure compliance with safety standards, noting that violators will face appropriate sanctions.
