A Fulani man was reportedly arrested at the popular Gbagi Market in Ibadan after a firearm was allegedly discovered in his possession.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect was apprehended by residents and traders in the area after the weapon was reportedly found inside his bag during a routine interaction.

The incident caused panic and heightened tension within the market as concerned residents gathered at the scene.

Sources said the suspect was subsequently handed over to security operatives for further investigation.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged possession of the firearm.
