Protesters have gathered in their numbers at Mokola round about in Ibadan, Oyo State to protest the cost of living.
The demonstrators are holding placards with messages such as “End food price hikes and inflation,” “No more suffering,” and “Police, please do not intimidate us.”
Some of the protesters in separate interviews with yes FM said the current economic hardship is a call for concern.
Security personnel, including officers from the Nigerian police force and NSCDC, were present to maintain law and order.
Similar demonstrations have taken place in other states, including Niger, Kano, and Osun.
