United States President Donald Trump has given the Islamic Republic of Iran a condition to end the ongoing war.
Trump disclosed that the war in Iran would end once the Islamic Republic accepts a proposal to open up the Strait of Hormuz.
Posting on his Truth Social, Trump warned that the US would resume bombing of Iran at a “much higher level and intensity” if the c5refuses to accept the proposal.
“Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is, perhaps, a big assumption, the already legendary Epic Fury will be at an end, and the highly effective Blockade will allow the Hormuz Strait to be OPEN TO ALL, including Iran.
“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before.” he said.
Meanwhile, Foad Izadi, an associate professor at the University of Tehran, has said Iran is unlikely to accept US promises to lift sanctions and release frozen funds in return for dropping plans to charge ships for using the Strait of Hormuz.
He told Al-Jazeera: “The consensus here is that the United States cannot be trusted on these money issues.
“Promises of future money transfers is something that [gives] you … a choice between what you have and what you may have later on. I think the Iranian side will go with what they have.”
